Analysis of Global Burden of Disease data tracked incidence, mortality and disability-adjusted life years from acute myeloid leukaemia in children and adolescents aged 0-19 across 204 countries 1990-2021\. Global incidence fell 37%, mortality 40%, and DALYs 42%, with sharpest declines in high-middle socio-demographic index regions (EAPC -2.96% to -3.51%) and lowest in low SDI regions (mortality +8%, DALYs +5%). South Asia bore the highest absolute burden; Oceania the highest population-adjusted rates.

*Why it is interesting: Shows that childhood AML mortality followed the general improvement trend but with stark divergence by development level, and residual burden concentrated in low-SDI settings.*
