This age-period-cohort analysis modelled self-reported doctor-diagnosed diabetes in 3,208,979 Korea Community Health Survey respondents from 2010 to 2023\. Against ages 39-40, odds peaked at ages 77-78 (aOR 9.39, 95% CI 8.45-10.44), and against 2010 they peaked in 2023 (aOR 1.49, 95% CI 1.43-1.54). Against the 1980-1984 cohort, those born 1935-1959 (aORs 1.14-1.33) and 1985-2004 (aORs 1.12-1.35) had raised odds. With BMI of 25 kg/m² or more, only younger cohorts had raised odds, peaking at aOR 1.50 for 1995-1999\. Self-report misses undiagnosed diabetes. In the KNHANES survey with measured glucose and HbA1c, the young-cohort effect was not significant.

*Why it is interesting: Separating cohort from age and period picks out two generations with more diagnosed diabetes, born 1935-1959 and since 1985\. The young-cohort signal sat with obesity and low household income.*
