- Description: Measured height and weight in 3,978 representative German children aged 4 to 17 in 2023 to 2025 gave an overweight and obesity prevalence of 16.1% and an obesity prevalence of 6.7%, which the authors report as stable against waves dating back to 2005.

MoMo 2.0 drew a representative sample of German children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 and measured height and weight in the field for 3,978 participants between 2023 and 2025, using an inverse probability of participation alignment factor to compare with earlier waves. Overweight and obesity combined stood at 16.1% (95% CI 14.5 to 17.9) and obesity alone at 6.7% (95% CI 5.5 to 8.1). The authors report prevalence as stable over the past two decades.

*Why it is interesting: The prevalence comes from measured rather than self-reported height and weight, and the trend against earlier waves is flat.*
