In a publication with Swiss Re, we explore the landscape of COVID-19 testing and explain why our immune responses to the virus are so varied. Despite global interest, we should not forget that antibody tests simply confirm whether someone had COVID-19. By themselves, they neither help with treatment nor prevention..Contact tracing and widespread testing can optimise our route from lockdown. The pace of vaccine development is breathtaking, but then so are our expectations. COVID-19 will remain a threat throughout 2020, and antibody testing may allow us to better track, monitor and contain the virus across time and geographies.
