Excess deaths in 2020-2023 were partly offset by death deficits in 2024-2025

Across 38 populations with reliable death registration, cumulative 2020-2025 excess deaths were estimated at 0.92-2.49 million, with 33 of 38 countries showing death deficits in 2024-2025 that partly offset the 1.99-2.88 million excess of 2020-2023.
